Energizer LED Tube Bulb G13 1200mm 18W Non-Dimmable - Daylight 6500K

This is an 18W LED tube in the standard 4ft length, 1200mm end to end, with a G13 two pin cap at each end. It gives 1950 lumens at 6500K, which reads as a clean daylight white rather than the yellower light of a warm white lamp. The light spreads across a 170 degree beam angle, so it washes over a wide area rather than picking out a narrow patch below the fitting. G13 is the cap used on T8 linear lamps, so the connection is the familiar pair of pins at each end rather than a screw or bayonet base.

A 4ft tube at this colour temperature earns its place where you need to see clearly: garages, workshops, utility rooms, stockrooms, garden offices and the back of house areas of a shop. Daylight white keeps colours honest, which matters when you are matching paint, sorting small components or reading labels on a shelf above a bench. It is a poor fit for a sitting room or a bedroom, where most people prefer a warm white lamp nearer 2700K. The IP20 rating means the tube has no protection against water, so keep it to dry indoor positions under cover.

This tube is not dimmable, so wire it to a plain on and off switch and keep it off a dimmer circuit. The energy rating is E. The manufacturer does not print a rated lifespan or a wattage equivalent. The cap is G13 and the tube is 1200mm long, which is the standard 4ft T8 format, so the pins and the length should line up. The manufacturer does not state whether it runs on an existing ballast and starter or whether the fitting needs rewiring, so have an electrician check the gear before you swap tubes.

How bright is 1950 lumens in a garage or workshop?

It is a useful working level for a single bay garage, a small workshop or a utility room of roughly the same footprint. Over a larger floor area, two or more tubes spaced along the ceiling give a more even spread than one tube working alone.

What does 6500K daylight actually look like?

It is the coolest of the common white tones, crisp and slightly blue next to a warm white lamp. Colours look truer under it, which helps with paint matching, wiring and detailed bench work, but it feels clinical in a living space.

Can I run it on a dimmer switch?

No. This tube is non dimmable, so it needs a plain on and off switch. Putting a non dimmable LED on a dimmer circuit can cause flicker or buzzing and is not what the lamp is built for.

What fluorescent wattage does it replace?
