Description

The Energizer LED GLS bulb delivers 1521 lumens from a 13.5W LED element behind a standard GLS (general lighting service) frosted glass envelope with an E27 screw base. The 2700K warm white colour temperature produces a soft yellow-toned light comparable to traditional tungsten incandescent bulbs, making it suitable for living rooms, bedrooms and dining areas where warm ambient lighting is preferred.

Designed as a direct replacement for 100W incandescent bulbs, this LED consumes 86.5% less energy whilst producing equivalent light output. The E27 screw base fits standard UK and European lamp holders in table lamps, floor lamps, pendant fittings and ceiling fixtures. The bulb is non-dimmable and should be paired only with standard on/off switches — installing it in a dimmer circuit may cause flickering or premature failure.

The 240-degree beam angle provides wide light distribution across a room rather than focused directional output, making it appropriate for general ambient lighting rather than task lighting. At 60mm diameter and 122mm height, the bulb fits most standard lamp shades and enclosed fittings. Can this bulb be used with a dimmer switch?

No. This is a non-dimmable LED bulb and must only be used with standard on/off switches. Installing it in a dimmer circuit may cause flickering, buzzing or premature LED failure. If dimming is required, search for Energizer's dimmable LED range.

The 15-year rating assumes the bulb operates for an average of 2.7 hours per day, totalling approximately 15,000 hours of use. After this period, the bulb will still function but its light output will have degraded to around 70% of the initial 1521 lumens.

Will this fit my existing lamp?

If your lamp or fitting has an E27 (Edison screw) socket, yes. The E27 base is the standard large screw fitting used across the UK and Europe. The bulb measures 60mm wide by 122mm tall, so check shade clearances if fitting into enclosed or narrow lamp shades.

How does 2700K compare to other colour temperatures?

2700K produces a warm yellow-white light similar to traditional incandescent bulbs, creating a cosy atmosphere in living spaces. For comparison, 3000K is a slightly cooler warm white, 4000K is neutral white (office-like), and 6000K is cool daylight white.
