Elm 2 Light G9 Table Lamp 12cm Long - Polished Chrome

Two clear glass shades sit on a polished chrome frame, catching the light and giving back small bright reflections rather than a soft, even wash. At 32cm wide it reads as a low, horizontal lamp rather than a tall column, so it sits happily beneath a shelf or a picture. The glass is left clear, so the capsules stay on show and do much of the decorative work. An inline switch on the flex does the rest, with no reaching behind furniture to turn it off.

It earns its place on a side table, a console or a long sideboard, where two small pools of light are more useful than one central glow. We would put a pair on matching bedside tables, since the low build keeps sightlines across a bedroom clear, and it is one we reach for in a sitting room corner that needs light without another floor-standing piece. Fit dimmable capsules and, with a dimmer to control them, the output can be taken down for the evening.

Polished chrome gives the metalwork a bright, mirror-like surface, and against clear glass the whole lamp stays visually light rather than solid. For cleaning, switch off at the socket and let the glass cool, then run a barely damp cloth over the shades and dry them at once so the chrome is left free of water marks; keep sprays and cream cleaners away from both. What lamps does it take?

It takes two G9 capsules, up to 10W each. We would fit LED capsules here for the lower running cost and cooler glass.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, provided you use dimmable G9 capsules and a suitable dimmer. Neither the lamps nor a dimmer come with it.

How big is it?

It stands 420mm high and measures 320mm wide, with a depth of 120mm, so it needs a fair span of surface but very little front-to-back room.

How is it switched?

There is an inline switch on the flex, so it can be operated from the tabletop or from the floor beside a bed.

How should the glass be cleaned?

Switch off, let it cool, then wipe the clear glass with a barely damp cloth and dry immediately. Dust the chrome with a soft dry cloth between times.
