Elm 2 Light G9 Table Lamp 12cm Long - Antique Brass

Two lights on a single base, in antique brass with clear glass shades so the light shows through the glass rather than being shut inside it. At roughly 32cm across, it has enough width to fill a sideboard or a hall table without dominating it. An inline switch sits on the flex, so it is turned on and off from the cable rather than by reaching round behind the glass. Each holder takes a G9 capsule of up to 10W, and we would put LED in here for the low running heat and long life.

It suits a living room where you want a low, warm pool of light beside a sofa, and it works just as well in a bedroom, on a dressing table or as a pair either side of a bed. The clear glass makes it a good choice in smaller rooms, where a solid shade can look heavy and block more light than it gives. Fit dimmable capsules and use it with a dimmer and the level comes down for evenings. It is intended for ordinary dry rooms indoors, plugged into a socket, so keep it away from basins and splashes.

Glass and metal throughout, with the antique brass carrying a softer, warmer sheen than a bright plated finish, and it settles nicely against wood and older furniture. To clean it, unplug the lamp first and let the glass go cold, then lift dust off with a dry cloth; fingermarks on the glass come away with a cloth slightly dampened in warm water, dried immediately so nothing sits on the brass. What lamps does it take?

It takes two G9 capsules, rated up to 10W each. Lamps are not supplied, and we would recommend LED capsules.

How big is it?

It measures 420mm high, 320mm wide and 120mm deep, and weighs 0.92kg.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, provided you fit dimmable G9 capsules and use a suitable dimmer. No dimmer is supplied with the lamp.

How is it switched?

There is an inline switch on the flex, so you can operate it without reaching behind the lamp.

How should the glass be cleaned?

Unplug it and let the glass cool completely, then dust with a dry cloth. For marks, use a cloth wrung out in warm water and dry the glass and brass straight away. Avoid abrasive creams and solvents.

Is there a matching ceiling or wall fitting?

Yes. The Elm range includes wall lights, a four light floor lamp and semi-flush ceiling fittings, all in antique brass with clear glass.
