Ellen 1 Light Crystal Wall Light - Satin Brass

The Ellen is a single-light crystal wall light built around an upturned shallow dish shade set with individual clear crystal buttons, mounted on a curved satin brass arm that extends from a circular satin brass backplate. A single G9 bulb sits inside the dish (sold separately), casting light upward through the crystal layer and outward through the gaps between the buttons, creating refracted light patterns on nearby walls and ceilings.

Designed for hallways, bedroom walls adjacent to wardrobes or dressing tables, and living room accent positions where decorative rather than task lighting is needed, the Ellen provides ambient uplight and reflected sparkle rather than direct downlight. The 250mm projection from the wall and 180mm dish diameter suit walls with at least 300mm of clear adjacent space. The satin brass finish works in both warm-toned traditional interiors and contemporary schemes pairing brass with marble, dark woods or navy blue.

Each crystal button is individually set into the metal frame by hand during assembly, creating slight variation in spacing and alignment between individual Ellen wall lights — this is a feature of the construction method rather than a defect. The satin finish on the brass reduces glare under daylight compared to polished brass, and the 0.6kg weight allows the fitting to be mounted on standard plasterboard walls with appropriate fixings.

What bulb does it take?

The Ellen takes a single G9 capsule bulb up to 33W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a G9 LED between 2W-5W in warm white (2700K-3000K) to suit the brass finish. A dimmable G9 LED is needed if the wall light is wired to a dimmer switch.

Does it give enough light for a hallway?

The Ellen is designed as decorative accent lighting rather than primary illumination. It casts light upward and outward through the crystal buttons, creating ambient wash light and sparkle on adjacent surfaces. For a hallway needing functional light levels, pair the Ellen with recessed downlights or a central ceiling fitting.

How is the crystal dish cleaned?

Switch off and allow the bulb to cool. Wipe the crystal buttons with a dry microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the metal frame and do not use glass cleaners or sprays containing ammonia near the satin brass finish.

Can it be fitted on a plasterboard wall?

Yes. The Ellen weighs 0.6kg, which is within the load capacity of standard plasterboard fixings (spring toggles or metal cavity anchors rated for 5kg+). Ensure the wall is sound and the fixings are suitable for the wall construction.
