Ella 8 Light Crystal Pendant Light with Black Shade - Polished Chrome

The Ella is an 8 light crystal pendant light built around a two-tier polished chrome chandelier frame, enclosed in a 500mm-diameter black silk string shade with exposed crystal drops below. Eight E14 bulbs (sold separately) sit on the chrome arms inside the shade, lighting both the crystals within the cylinder and the individual drops that hang beneath it. The black silk shade forms a vertical-strand drum around the upper chandelier, diffusing direct brightness while leaving the internal crystal structure visible through the fabric.

Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and double-height spaces with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above, the Ella combines the ambient light of a fabric shade with the decorative detail of a crystal chandelier. The adjustable drop of 950-1870mm allows the pendant to be set proportionally whether the ceiling is 2.7m or 4m high. The lower tier of crystal drops extends approximately 150mm below the shade hem, creating a two-part visual where the black drum anchors the upper section and the exposed crystals add decorative weight below.

The silk shade is constructed from fine vertical strands that give the fabric a textured surface under side-light, contrasting with the hard-cut facets on the crystals. The polished chrome frame inside provides a neutral reflective surface that picks up both the warm glow from bulbs and the prismatic light refracted through the crystal. At 7kg total weight, the pendant needs secure ceiling fixing — the chrome canopy fits standard UK ceiling roses and the chain-and-cable assembly is length-adjustable during installation.

What bulbs does the Ella take?

The pendant takes eight E14 small Edison screw bulbs, each up to 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs at 4-6W each and 2700K-3000K to create ambient light without overpowering the crystals.

Is the Ella dimmable?

Yes, if you use dimmable bulbs. The fitting itself has no dimmer built in, so dimming depends entirely on pairing dimmable E14 bulbs with a compatible wall dimmer or smart bulb system.

What ceiling height is needed?

The minimum drop of 950mm suits ceiling heights from 2.7m upwards. For dining tables, the pendant typically sits 700-800mm above the surface, which works in rooms with ceilings of 2.8m or higher. The maximum 1870mm drop accommodates double-height entrance halls and staircases.

How is the black shade cleaned?

The silk string shade attracts dust over time. Use a soft brush attachment on a vacuum cleaner set to low power, or a dry microfibre cloth. Do not use water or cleaning sprays directly on the fabric — they can stain the silk strands.
