Description

The Elara is a 122x92cm rectangular wall mirror built around a central flat mirror panel surrounded by four layers of bevelled glass set into a silver-grey painted wooden frame. The bevelled glass layers step inward towards the central mirror, creating a geometric border that reflects light at multiple angles depending on the viewing position and ambient light direction.

Designed for living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and over-console applications, the mirror suits wall spaces where a large reflective surface is needed to open up a room or reflect natural light from a window opposite. The 3cm frame depth means the mirror sits slightly proud of the wall surface, casting a subtle shadow line around its perimeter. At 20kg the mirror requires two-point wall fixing into solid masonry or into studs behind plasterboard — the weight precludes hanging from picture wire or single-point hooks.

The silver-grey finish on the wooden frame is a cool mid-tone that sits between polished chrome and charcoal, pairing well with contemporary greys, whites, and cooler blues while remaining neutral enough to work in warmer interiors. The bevelled glass surround catches and refracts light differently throughout the day, turning the mirror border into an active design element rather than just a static frame.

Frequently Asked

How is the mirror mounted?

At 20kg the Elara requires two-point wall fixing. For solid masonry walls use heavy-duty mirror plates or D-rings with appropriate wall plugs and screws. For plasterboard walls the fixings must locate into timber studs behind the board — the weight exceeds the safe load for plasterboard anchors alone.

What wall space is needed?

The mirror measures 122cm wide by 92cm tall, so allow at least 130x100cm of clear wall space to avoid the frame edges sitting too close to door frames, light switches or adjacent furniture. The 3cm frame depth adds projection from the wall.

Is the bevelled border part of the mirror or separate?

The bevelled glass border is a separate layer of glass set into the wooden frame around the central mirror panel. The bevels step inward in four distinct layers, creating depth and catching light at different angles.

Can it be hung portrait or landscape?

The mirror is shown and typically hung in portrait orientation (taller than wide). It can be rotated to landscape if the fixing points are repositioned, though the design proportions work best in portrait for full-length reflection or over-console use.
