Description

The Eclipse is a 380mm table lamp built around a cast resin horse bust base finished in bronze patina, topped with a 300mm tapered square shade in natural hessian fabric. The horse sculpture captures the head, neck and bridle detail of a saddled horse in mid-profile, mounted on a stepped rectangular plinth. The E27 socket inside the shade accepts bulbs up to 40W (sold separately).

Designed for bedside tables, study desks and living room side tables, the Eclipse combines decorative sculptural presence with functional task and ambient light. The hessian shade diffuses bulb glare into a warm ambient glow, making it suitable for reading positions where direct light would be too harsh. The compact 165mm square footprint fits narrow bedside shelves and corner desks without dominating the surface.

The bronze patina finish on the resin base gives the appearance of aged bronze with subtle green and brown tonal variation across the raised details of the horse's bridle, mane and facial features. The hessian shade has visible linen weave texture that contrasts with the smooth metallic finish of the base. The square shade profile gives the lamp a more architectural line than a traditional drum or empire shade would, pairing well with both country and contemporary interiors.

What bulb does the Eclipse take?

The lamp takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 40W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K for bedside or desk use.

Is the shade removable for cleaning?

Yes. The hessian shade lifts off the lamp base for dusting or replacement. Hessian is a natural fabric and can be gently vacuumed with a soft brush attachment or spot-cleaned with a barely-damp cloth.

What is the base made from?

The horse bust and plinth are cast from resin and finished with a bronze patina coating that gives the appearance of aged metal. The base is lighter than solid bronze but provides adequate stability for a 40W bulb fitting.

Can this be used with a dimmer switch?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulb type. LED bulbs labeled as dimmable will work with most trailing-edge dimmers. Non-dimmable LED bulbs and traditional filament bulbs will not respond to dimming controls.
