Description

The Eclipse is a 2-light wall light built around two curved black chrome arms that twist outward from a central square backplate, each arm terminating in a clear glass shade shaped to resemble a folded petal. The arms extend in opposite directions at approximately 45-degree angles, giving the fitting a 250mm width and height footprint with a 170mm projection from the wall. Each glass shade houses a G9 bulb (sold separately).

Designed for hallways, living room feature walls and bedroom accent lighting, the Eclipse works where a decorative wall light is needed without occupying the full height or width of a traditional sconce. The twin arms provide balanced illumination across a 2-3m wall section when mounted at typical switch height (1.2m from floor). The clear glass shades refract light through the faceted surfaces, creating reflected highlights on adjacent walls and ceiling when the bulbs are lit.

The black chrome finish is a PVD coating over the metal arms and backplate, giving a dark gunmetal tone with subtle reflectivity that sits between matt black and polished chrome. The 1.4kg weight and 170mm projection mean the fitting needs secure fixing to solid wall or into studs on plasterboard. The backplate provides two fixing points. The fitting is dimmable when paired with dimmable G9 LED bulbs and a compatible trailing-edge dimmer.

The Eclipse takes two G9 capsule bulbs (sold separately). Most users pair this with 3-5W LED G9 bulbs in warm white (2700K-3000K). The maximum wattage depends on the bulb type. LED bulbs typically run at 3-7W, while older halogen G9 capsules go up to 40W.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, but only when fitted with dimmable G9 bulbs and paired with a compatible trailing-edge dimmer switch. Standard non-dimmable LED bulbs will not dim and may flicker if a dimmer is used.

What wall fixing is needed?

The 1.4kg weight and 170mm projection require secure fixing. On solid walls, use wall plugs and screws into the two backplate fixing points. On plasterboard, fix into timber studs or use heavy-duty plasterboard anchors rated for at least 2kg per fixing point.

What is black chrome?
