Description

This Knightsbridge E27 vintage pendant holder combines a polished chrome canopy, a knurled lampholder body and a fabric-braided flex in a single pre-wired unit. The E27 threaded socket accepts standard Edison screw bulbs up to 60W, and the 150mm pre-wired cable connects directly to mains wiring without needing separate lamp holder assembly.

Designed for kitchens, dining areas and home bars where exposed-bulb pendants are used as feature lighting, the holder suits both decorative filament bulbs and lampshades with a 42mm internal ring diameter. The polished chrome finish reflects ambient light and pairs with both contemporary and industrial interiors. The holder is Class II double-insulated, so it does not require an earth connection to the lampholder body itself, though the terminal block includes an earth terminal for circuit continuity.

The knurled grip on the lampholder body makes bulb changes straightforward, while the polished chrome canopy covers the ceiling rose or junction box where the mains cable terminates. At 286mm total projection from ceiling to base of lampholder, the unit sits lower than many modern pendants and works in rooms with ceiling heights from 2.4m upwards. The terminal block accepts two 1.5mm² conductors, which covers standard UK domestic lighting cable.

What bulb does it take?

The holder takes a standard E27 Edison screw bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with either a decorative filament LED bulb or a standard warm-white LED for use under a lampshade.

Can I fit a lampshade to this holder?

Yes. The holder accepts lampshades with a 42mm internal ring diameter. The shade sits on the lower portion of the lampholder body and is held in place by the bulb being screwed in above it.

Is it dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulb used. If you fit a dimmable LED or halogen bulb, the holder will work with a compatible dimmer switch on the circuit. The holder itself does not limit dimming capability.

What does pre-wired mean?

The 150mm fabric-braided cable is already connected to the terminal block inside the canopy, so you only need to connect the mains cable from the ceiling rose to the terminal block. This reduces installation time compared to threading and wiring a separate flex.
