Description

The Knightsbridge E27 vintage pendant holder is a pre-wired metal lamp fitting in an anthracite powder-coat finish, designed for bare-bulb pendants or paired with fabric, glass or metal shades up to 42mm internal ring diameter. The holder arrives with 150mm of attached cable terminating in stripped and prepared ends, reducing installation time compared to wiring a bare holder from scratch.

Designed for domestic and hospitality use over dining tables, kitchen islands, bar areas and bedrooms, the fitting accepts any standard E27 (Edison screw) LED or filament bulb up to 60W. The anthracite finish is a dark grey-black powder coat over premium-grade steel, giving a subdued industrial look that works alongside exposed brick, concrete and warm timber interiors without the stark contrast of pure matt black.

The holder is certified to BS EN 60598-1 and BS EN 60598-2-1, with Class II double-insulated construction meaning no earth connection is required to the holder itself (though the earth terminal is present for onward connection to metal shades or chains). The 286mm projection from ceiling rose to the bottom of the holder gives enough drop for the bulb to sit clear of low ceilings in most residential settings, and the IP20 rating confines use to dry interior locations only.

What bulb does it take?

The holder accepts any E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W maximum. Most users pair this with LED filament bulbs between 4-8W for vintage aesthetics with lower energy consumption. Bulbs are sold separately.

Can a lampshade be fitted?

Yes. The holder accepts fabric, glass or metal shades with a 42mm internal ring diameter. The earth terminal allows onward connection to metal shades if required.

Is it dimmable?

Dimming capability depends on the bulb fitted. If you pair the holder with a dimmable LED bulb, the overall fitting will dim. Non-dimmable bulbs will not respond to dimmer switches.

What does pre-wired mean?

The holder arrives with 150mm of cable already attached and stripped at the ends, ready to connect directly to a ceiling rose or junction box. This reduces installation time compared to threading and stripping cable yourself.
