Description

This E27 to G9 lamp socket converter allows a G9 halogen or LED capsule bulb to be fitted into a standard E27 Edison screw lamp holder. The converter screws into the E27 socket and provides a G9 two-pin connector at the opposite end, rated to 60W maximum load.

Intended for situations where a G9 bulb is needed in a fitting originally designed for E27 bulbs, such as converting a table lamp, pendant or wall light to accept smaller G9 capsules. The converter body measures 45mm in length and 30mm diameter, adding minimal projection to the overall bulb assembly once fitted. The white thermoplastic casing insulates the conversion zone between the two socket types.

The 60W rating accommodates most G9 halogen capsules and higher-output G9 LED replacements. G9 bulbs are sold separately. When converting a fitting, ensure the total assembled height of the converter plus bulb does not exceed the clearance available inside the shade or housing, as G9 capsules sit proud of the converter's upper face rather than recessing into it.
