Description

This round surface downlight from the Glozo range fixes flat onto the ceiling face, so there is no recessed cut-out to make. The white steel body holds a single E27 Edison Screw (ES) lamp, which sits behind the front opening and is not supplied with the fitting. The lamp position is fixed, giving a steady downward wash rather than an adjustable beam, and the housing takes a lamp rated up to 2W maximum.

Measuring Ø300 by 95 mm, it suits hallways, landings, kitchens, utility rooms and bedrooms where a tidy ceiling-mounted fixture is wanted without cutting into the plasterboard. The shallow 95 mm depth keeps it close to the ceiling line, which helps on lower ceilings and in spaces where a recessed installation is not practical. Rated IP20, it is intended for dry indoor rooms only, so keep it clear of bathroom zones and any sheltered outdoor positions.

The fitting is built from steel finished in white, mounted to the ceiling on its surface plate and wired in fixed. The light output, colour and dimming behaviour all depend on the E27 bulb you fit, so choose the lamp to suit the room and its controls. Clean the white finish with a dry or barely damp soft cloth once power is off; avoid solvents that could mark the paint.

Which bulb does it take, and is one included?

It accepts a single E27 Edison Screw (ES) lamp, rated up to a maximum of 2W. No bulb is supplied, so you choose and buy the E27 lamp separately.

Does it need a ceiling cut-out?

No. This is a surface downlight, so it fixes directly onto the face of the ceiling on its mounting plate. There is no hole to cut, which makes it a good choice where recessing is not possible.

Can it be used in a bathroom or outdoors?

No. It is rated IP20 for dry indoor use only, so it should be kept out of bathroom shower and bath zones and away from any outdoor or sheltered exterior position.

Can the light be angled or dimmed?

The fitting is in a fixed position and cannot be tilted or aimed. Whether it dims depends entirely on the E27 bulb you fit and your dimmer, not on the housing itself.
