Description

The Knightsbridge E27 pendant lamp holder pairs a cylindrical antique brass lampholder with a matching 100mm ceiling rose, connected by a black fabric-covered flex. The pendant is pre-wired and ready to connect to a ceiling circuit, eliminating the need to wire individual components on-site. The E27 socket accepts standard Edison screw bulbs up to 60W and is T2 rated for both incandescent and LED lamps.

Designed for kitchens, dining areas, hallways and bedrooms where a single pendant drop is needed, the pendant holder gives a 272.5mm projection from the ceiling rose to the base of the lampholder. This compact drop suits lower ceilings and areas where the bulb itself provides most of the visual interest rather than a shade. The fixed-drop design means the flex length cannot be adjusted without re-wiring, so the pendant is best suited to rooms with standard 2.4m ceiling heights where the drop keeps the bulb well above head height.

The antique brass finish on both the ceiling rose and lampholder shows a darker, aged patina compared to polished brass, with subtle tonal variation across the brushed metal surface. The cylindrical lampholder body measures 40mm in diameter and houses the E27 threaded socket, with the ceiling rose providing a clean termination point for the black flex against white or neutral ceilings. The pendant is Class II rated with an IP20 rating, meaning it has double insulation but is not suitable for bathroom zones or outdoor use.

Is the flex length adjustable?

No. The pendant is pre-wired with a fixed drop of 272.5mm from the ceiling rose to the base of the lampholder. Adjusting the length would require cutting and re-wiring the flex, which voids the pre-wired convenience and may affect certification.

What bulb does it take?

The pendant takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a decorative filament LED bulb or a globe bulb where the bulb itself provides the visual design rather than being hidden by a shade.

Is it dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulb you fit. The lampholder itself supports dimming if you use a dimmable LED or halogen E27 bulb and pair it with a compatible dimmer switch on the wall circuit.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the pendant is not waterproof and is only suitable for dry indoor areas. For bathrooms you need a pendant rated IP44 or higher depending on the zone.
