Description

This Knightsbridge E27 pendant lamp holder pairs a cylindrical black nickel metal housing with a black fabric-covered flex and a matching ceiling rose. The lamp holder arrives pre-wired with a 150mm cable drop from the ceiling rose to the threaded E27 socket, which accepts standard Edison screw bulbs up to 60W. The black nickel finish is a dark gunmetal tone with subtle reflective properties, sitting between polished chrome and matt black.

Designed for domestic and commercial pendant installation, the lamp holder suits kitchens, dining rooms, bars and offices where a single bulb fitting is needed without the housing or shade. The 150mm fixed drop is short, placing the bulb close to the ceiling rose — this configuration works for exposed filament bulbs where the bulb itself provides the decorative element, or as a base for adding a separate pendant shade. The pre-wired cable terminates at a ceiling rose with terminal capacity for 2 x 1.5mm² wire.

The premium-grade steel construction and Class II double-insulation rating mean the fitting does not require an earth connection to the ceiling supply, simplifying installation in older properties where earth wires may not run to every ceiling position. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor locations. The black fabric flex adds texture against the smooth metal finish of the ceiling rose and lamp holder body.

What bulb does it take?

The lamp holder accepts any standard E27 Edison screw bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with an exposed filament LED bulb between 4-8W in warm white (2700K) or with a separate pendant shade.

Is it dimmable?

Dimming depends on the bulb you fit. If you install a dimmable LED or halogen bulb, the lamp holder will support dimming when connected to a compatible dimmer switch on the wall circuit.

Can the cable length be extended?

The cable is fixed at 150mm between the ceiling rose and the lamp holder. Extending it would require rewiring the unit or adding an inline cable extension, which is not recommended as it affects the Class II certification. For longer drops, consider a different pendant holder model with adjustable cable.

Does it require an earth connection?

No. The Class II double-insulation rating means the fitting does not require an earth connection to operate safely. The earth terminal is present but not mandatory for installation in older properties without ceiling earth wires.
