Description

The Knightsbridge E27 pendant lamp holder is a pre-wired ceiling pendant in matt white powder-coated steel, designed to reduce installation time for electricians and DIY fitters. The holder takes a standard E27 Edison screw bulb up to 60W and comes with a 150mm white fabric-sleeved cable already fitted, terminating in a loop ceiling rose that connects to mains via a terminal block rated for 2 x 1.5mm² cable.

Designed for use in kitchens, utility rooms, hallways, bedrooms and garages where a simple functional pendant is needed without decorative fittings. The 40mm diameter ceiling rose sits flush against the ceiling and the lamp holder projects 272.5mm from the ceiling when the bulb is installed. The fixed drop design means the pendant cannot be shortened or lengthened after installation, making it suited to standard ceiling heights of 2.4m-2.7m where a short-drop pendant provides adequate headroom.

The matt white finish is powder-coated over premium-grade steel, providing scratch resistance and a neutral appearance that blends with white or pale-painted ceilings. The Class II double-insulated construction means the fitting does not require an earth connection to operate safely, although an earth terminal is present in the ceiling rose for onward connection to other fittings in the circuit. The IP20 rating confirms it is suitable for dry indoor locations only.

Does the pendant come with a bulb?

No. The lamp holder accepts any standard E27 bulb up to 60W, sold separately. Most users pair this with a 6-10W LED bulb in 2700K-3000K for general lighting.

Is the drop length adjustable?

No. The 150mm fabric cable is fixed at factory length, giving a total projection of 272.5mm from ceiling to the base of the lamp holder. The drop cannot be shortened or extended on site.

Is it dimmable?

Dimming depends on the bulb you install. The lamp holder itself supports dimming if you fit a dimmable E27 LED or halogen bulb and connect it to a compatible dimmer switch.

What certification does it carry?

The pendant is certified to BS EN 60598-2-1 and BS EN 60598-1, confirming compliance with UK safety standards for fixed luminaires. It carries a Class II double-insulated rating and IP20 for dry indoor use only.
