Description

This Knightsbridge E27 contemporary pendant holder is a pre-wired pendant fitting in anthracite powder-coated steel, designed to convert a ceiling rose into a suspended lamp holder without requiring additional wiring or terminating. The 40mm ceiling canopy conceals the ceiling rose connection, while the 272.5mm fixed drop positions the E27 bulb holder at the end of a fabric-wrapped cable.

Intended for domestic and light commercial installations where a simple pendant light is needed without a full pendant shade, the fitting accepts any standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W and can be paired with exposed filament bulbs, globe bulbs or small decorative shades that screw onto the E27 thread. The Class II double-insulated construction means no earth connection is required at the ceiling rose, simplifying installation where older wiring is present.

The anthracite finish is a mid-tone dark grey with a low-sheen powder coat that sits between matt black and bare steel, pairing with industrial, contemporary and Scandi-minimal interiors. The fabric-wrapped cable is fixed in length at 0.15m from canopy to holder, giving a total drop of approximately 272mm once the ceiling canopy depth is included. The 2 x 1.5mm² terminal capacity handles standard twin-and-earth cable found in UK domestic installations.

Is the cable length adjustable?

No. The cable is fixed at 0.15m (150mm) from the ceiling canopy to the bulb holder, giving a total drop of approximately 272mm. For adjustable-drop pendants, see Knightsbridge's rise-and-fall models.

Does it come with a bulb?

No. The fitting accepts any standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Most users pair this with exposed filament LED bulbs in warm white (2700K) for decorative effect.

Is an earth connection required?

The fitting is Class II double-insulated, so no earth connection to the pendant itself is required. However, an earth terminal is provided on the ceiling canopy for code compliance where the ceiling rose has an earth available.

Can I add a lampshade?

Yes, provided the shade has an E27 screw thread attachment and the combined weight does not exceed the fitting's load rating. Small metal or glass shades that screw directly onto the E27 holder are compatible.
