Description

The Duceri D001 is a 3.2V 1500mAh lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) replacement battery designed for Duceri emergency lighting fittings that use rechargeable LiFePO4 cells. The battery ships pre-wired with a white connector block that matches the socket inside compatible Duceri emergency light housings, allowing direct replacement without re-terminating cables.

Emergency lighting regulations require the backup battery to maintain sufficient capacity to power the fitting for the required duration (typically 3 hours) after mains failure. This replacement battery is specified to meet that requirement in Duceri LiFePO4-compatible emergency fittings. The battery recharges automatically when mains power is restored, cycling through charge and standby states as the fitting's internal charging circuit dictates.

LiFePO4 chemistry offers a longer cycle life and greater thermal stability than older NiCd or NiMH emergency lighting batteries, reducing the frequency of replacements in maintained and non-maintained emergency fittings. The cylindrical cell measures approximately 18mm diameter by 65mm length (IFR18650 form factor) and weighs 48g including the attached cable and connector. The battery is designed for installation inside the emergency fitting housing only — it is not a standalone portable power source.

Frequently Asked

Which Duceri emergency lights is this battery compatible with?

This battery is designed for Duceri emergency lighting models that specify LiFePO4 rechargeable cells. Check the label inside your existing emergency fitting or consult the fitting's datasheet to confirm LiFePO4 compatibility before ordering. Models using NiCd or NiMH cells require different battery types.

How often does the battery need replacing?

LiFePO4 batteries typically offer 2,000+ charge cycles before capacity drops below the required emergency lighting threshold. In a typical installation this translates to 4-6 years of service life, though annual testing is recommended to confirm the battery still provides the required 3-hour duration after mains failure.

Can I install this battery myself?

Emergency lighting installation and maintenance in commercial premises must comply with BS 5266 and local fire safety regulations. Battery replacement should be carried out by a competent person. For domestic self-contained emergency lights, ensure mains power is isolated before opening the fitting housing.

What voltage does the battery charge to?

LiFePO4 cells have a nominal voltage of 3.2V and charge to approximately 3.6V when full. The charging circuit inside the Duceri emergency fitting manages the charge cycle automatically — no external charger is needed.
