Description

The Duceri D002 is a 3.2V 6000mAh lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) rechargeable battery designed as a direct replacement for Duceri emergency lighting units that use LiFePO4 chemistry. The battery delivers consistent 3.2V nominal voltage across its discharge cycle, providing reliable power for emergency luminaires during mains failure.

Designed for installation in Duceri emergency lighting fittings, the battery fits units configured for LiFePO4 cells and replaces the original battery when capacity degrades after repeated charge-discharge cycles. The pre-fitted wire leads terminate in a standard connector that mates directly with Duceri emergency driver boards, allowing replacement without soldering or terminal crimping.

LiFePO4 chemistry offers longer cycle life and better thermal stability than older NiCd or NiMH emergency lighting batteries, making it suitable for applications where the battery charges continuously on mains power and discharges only during periodic testing or actual mains failures. The 6000mAh capacity supports typical 3-hour emergency lighting durations required under UK building regulations for non-domestic premises. The battery weighs 155g and measures approximately 32mm diameter by 70mm length in cylindrical form.

Frequently Asked

Which Duceri emergency lights does this battery fit?

This battery is compatible with Duceri emergency lighting units specified for LiFePO4 chemistry. Check the existing battery label or the emergency light datasheet to confirm compatibility before ordering. The pre-fitted connector is designed to mate with Duceri driver boards.

How long does a LiFePO4 emergency battery last?

LiFePO4 batteries typically provide 500-1000 charge-discharge cycles before capacity drops to 80% of the rated 6000mAh. In emergency lighting applications where the battery is maintained on trickle charge and discharged only during testing or actual power failures, this translates to approximately 4-6 years of service life.

Can I replace a NiCd or NiMH battery with this LiFePO4 cell?

No. LiFePO4 batteries require different charging voltages and current profiles than NiCd or NiMH cells. Only replace with this battery if the emergency light driver board is designed for LiFePO4 chemistry. Mixing chemistries can damage the driver or create a fire risk.

How is the battery installed?

Installation requires isolating mains power to the emergency light, removing the old battery by disconnecting the plug connector, and connecting the new battery. The emergency light should then be restored to mains power and tested according to the manufacturer's instructions. If you are not a qualified electrician, arrange for a competent person to perform the replacement.
