Description

The Duceri D001E is a lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) rechargeable battery rated at 3.2V nominal voltage and 1500mAh capacity, supplied with a battery holder for installation in Duceri emergency lighting fittings. LiFePO4 chemistry provides higher cycle life and thermal stability compared to traditional nickel-cadmium or nickel-metal hydride emergency light batteries.

Designed as a direct replacement battery for Duceri LiFePO4-compatible emergency lighting units, the D001E fits into the battery compartment of the emergency fitting where it charges on mains power and discharges to power the emergency lamp heads during mains failure. The included battery holder secures the cell in position and provides the electrical connection to the charging circuit. At 48g the battery pack is lighter than equivalent NiCd or NiMH cells, reducing the total weight of the emergency fitting.

LiFePO4 batteries typically deliver 2,000+ charge/discharge cycles before capacity degrades to 80% of original rating, compared to 500-1,000 cycles for older battery chemistries. This translates to longer service intervals in emergency lighting installations, reducing maintenance frequency and battery replacement costs over the life of the fitting. The 3.2V nominal voltage of LiFePO4 is lower than the 3.6V of standard NiCd or NiMH, so compatibility must be confirmed with the specific emergency fitting model before installation.

Frequently Asked

Is this compatible with all Duceri emergency lights?

No. This battery is designed for Duceri emergency lighting models that specify LiFePO4 battery compatibility. Check the emergency fitting datasheet or label to confirm the required battery chemistry and voltage before ordering. Using a 3.2V LiFePO4 battery in a fitting designed for 3.6V NiCd/NiMH will result in underperformance.

How long does the battery last before it needs replacing?

LiFePO4 batteries typically provide 2,000+ charge/discharge cycles before capacity degrades to 80% of the original 1500mAh rating. In an emergency lighting application with monthly discharge testing, this equates to approximately 5-7 years of service life, though actual lifespan depends on ambient temperature and charge cycle depth.

What's the difference between LiFePO4 and NiCd batteries?

LiFePO4 (lithium iron phosphate) provides higher cycle life, lower self-discharge, and better performance across temperature ranges compared to NiCd (nickel-cadmium). LiFePO4 is also lighter and does not contain cadmium, which is a restricted heavy metal. However, LiFePO4 operates at 3.2V nominal compared to 3.6V for NiCd, so the emergency fitting must be compatible with the lower voltage.

Is the battery holder required for installation?

Yes. The included battery holder provides both mechanical mounting and electrical connection to the emergency fitting's charging circuit. The holder must be installed in the battery compartment with the battery cell secured inside it.
