Our Drelvanne LED floor lamp is a single black ribbon of aluminium and steel that loops into a loose figure of eight. It rises from a round base and crosses itself at the middle, with both ends trailing free past each other. It stands 107cm tall, 42.5cm wide and 25cm deep, on a round base with a 25cm diameter. A white plastic diffuser runs along the inside of the frame over integrated LEDs, so the light follows the whole curve of the loops, and there is never a bulb to buy or change. The IP20 rating settles where it belongs: indoors, in a dry room.

Because the frame is an open outline, the lamp gives a room a bold shape without blocking the view. That suits a bare corner of a living room, the space beside a sofa or armchair, or a bedroom. The round base takes up little floor space, so it fits where a wider lamp would crowd the room. From 20W it gives 2,500 lumens of warm white light at 3000K, enough to brighten its corner.
