Description

A neat little ceiling fitting for rooms that need light without bulk. The body measures 10cm across, sitting close against the ceiling, and the satin nickel finish gives a soft grey sheen that reads quieter than a polished metal. It takes an E27 lamp, so the look of the light is yours to pick: a clear filament globe for sparkle, or a plain opal one for something more anonymous. Dimming is possible with a compatible lamp and dimmer.

We reach for it on landings, in box rooms and in hallways where a pendant would hang into head height, and it looks right repeated in a line along a long corridor. It suits loft rooms and low ceilings, and above a staircase where anything hanging would be awkward to reach. Because the lamp itself does the visual work, it also earns a place in a walk-in wardrobe or a pantry, where a shade would only gather dust. An LED lamp is what we would fit here, up to 20W.

It is earthed, and belongs in dry rooms indoors rather than anywhere it might meet steam or weather. Keeping the finish looking well takes very little: a dry duster now and then, and no sprays or metal polish, which would dull the satin surface over time. It carries a one year warranty. We stock the same fitting in matt black, matt white, polished chrome, antique brass, pewter and antique copper, so a set can be matched to door furniture already in the room, and the range runs on to curved pendant frames if you want something with more presence over a table. Lamps are not included.
