Description

The Dosmorne is a black linear pendant light. Three cylindrical cage shades of black steel hang on slim cords from a long rectangular ceiling bar. It measures 90cm long, 20cm wide and 110cm high overall, so it spans a good stretch of table without crowding the room. Each cage holds integrated LEDs inside a white plastic shade, drawing 3.7W per light and giving 550lm per light. It is rated IP20, which means it belongs indoors in dry rooms rather than outside or near water.

We would hang it over a dining table, a kitchen island or a breakfast bar, where three points of light along one line suit a long surface far better than a single shade. The colour temperature adjusts from 2700K to 6500K, so the same fitting gives a warm glow for supper and a crisp white for homework or prep. The RGB colour changing brings coloured light when friends visit. It is dimmable and controlled by an app, so you can set the mood from the sofa, and it also works with a remote control, which is sold separately. Once the LEDs are lit, the steel cages cast striped shadows across nearby walls, which gives real character to a plain room.

The body and the three cages are black steel, and a white plastic shade sits inside each cage around the LEDs. There is no switch on the fitting itself: it is switched at the wall, and it runs on mains power at 220-240V. Because it is a wired mains light, it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download. The packed weight is 4.535KG, so a second pair of hands helps when you unpack it and lift the bar into place.
