Description

The Dorado is a 770mm-tall table lamp built around a cast resin horse sculpture on a rectangular plinth, finished in a bronze patina. The horse is modelled in a walking stance with detailed musculature, flowing mane and tail, and stands on a flat metal base that supports the upright rod feeding the E27 lampholder inside the shade. The bronze patina finish layers darker brown tones over a metallic base, giving the resin a weathered bronze appearance.

Designed for side tables, console tables and hallway surfaces with at least 450mm of clear width, the Dorado pairs decorative sculptural presence with ambient table lighting. The 460mm-wide rectangular shade in natural hessian diffuses light from a single E27 bulb (sold separately, 40W max) across the width of the shade rather than pooling it in a circle. This makes the lamp suited to hallway consoles and side tables flanking sofas, where the wider spread of light fills more of the horizontal surface than a traditional circular shade.

The hessian shade is laminated fabric over a wire frame, giving it a rigid structure that holds the rectangular profile without sagging. The natural beige tone of the hessian complements the warm brown patina of the bronze finish and softens the hard edges of the horse sculpture. The base depth of 115mm keeps the footprint compact despite the 420mm width, so the lamp can sit on narrower console tables without overhanging the front edge.
