Diva Square is a 95cm square wall mirror in a frame made of gold beads. The beads are individual spheres run round all four sides, larger at the corners than along the runs, so the frame has a rhythm to it rather than a repeat.

A beaded frame is a decorative device rather than a structural one, and at 95cm square it gives a plain wall a single ornamental object without going near a period pastiche. It works over a fireplace, in a dining room, or on a landing where it will be seen from below and the bead profile catches the light. Square is the harder proportion to place than a rectangle, so it wants a wall with room round it rather than a gap it just fits. It is not rated for a bathroom.

The frame is metal finished in gold on mirrored glass, and nothing needs assembling. At 11kg it is a one person hang on the two hooks and plugs supplied. Clean the glass with cleaner sprayed onto a cloth and dust the beads dry with a soft brush rather than a cloth, because a cloth catches between them and a wet one leaves water sitting in the gaps. The gold is a finish rather than solid metal, so keep cleaner off it. The bead profile means the frame stands proud of the glass and throws a broken shadow line, which is what stops it looking flat.
