Description

Our Desella 1 is a compact LED outdoor wall light built around a simple cube. A white plastic diffuser sits beneath an anthracite canopy that runs down a back plate and finishes in a small lip under the box. The body is cast aluminium, and it measures 16cm long and 16cm high, projecting 19cm from the wall. The LED is integrated, drawing 10W and giving 1,200lm at 3000K, a warm white. Its IP55 rating settles where it can go: it is protected against dust and jets of water, so it lives outdoors on a house wall or a garden wall.

We would put it beside a front or back door, along a side passage, or on a garden wall overlooking a patio or seating area. The square shape and dark grey finish suit modern homes, and they sit just as comfortably against brick, render or stone. At 1,200lm it is a bright choice for a single wall light, well suited to lighting a doorstep or a path, while the 3000K warm white keeps the glow welcoming rather than harsh. It suits anyone who wants a clean, bright light by a door without a bulky lantern.

The light has no switch or dimmer: it is switched at the wall and is not dimmable, so it comes on and goes off with the wall switch that controls it.
