Description

The Derato is a round twin-lamp fitting that works as either a ceiling light or a wall light, taking two E14 (SES) bulbs rated up to 8W each. With the lamps left open to your choice, the light it gives depends on the bulbs you fit, so you set both the brightness and the tone yourself rather than being tied to a fixed integrated LED. As a flush mount ceiling light it sits close to the surface, and the same body turns through to face out as a wall fixture. The 500mm round profile keeps a low 110mm depth, so it reads as a neat disc against the plaster.

Being a twin-E14 fitting, the Derato suits hallways, landings and bedrooms where a compact round ceiling light needs to cover a modest footprint without dominating the room. Coverage comes down to the two bulbs you pair with it, so for general lighting in a small room two warmer-output E14 lamps are usually enough, while brighter cool-white bulbs lift a working area. What size and type of bulb does it take?

The Derato uses two E14 small Edison screw (SES) bulbs, each rated up to 8W maximum. The bulbs are not included, so you can choose the brightness and colour temperature that suits the room. Fitting two matching lamps gives the most even output.

Can it be used in a bathroom or outdoors?

No. The Derato is rated IP20, which means it is for dry indoor use only. Keep it clear of bathrooms, shower zones, porches and any damp or outdoor location.

Is it dimmable?

Dimming depends entirely on the E14 bulbs you fit rather than the fitting itself. If you use dimmable LED or filament lamps with a compatible dimmer switch, you can dim the light. Standard non-dimmable bulbs will not dim.

How should it be cleaned?

Switch off the supply and let the bulbs cool, then wipe the aluminium body with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid solvents and abrasive cleaners, which can mark the black and silver finish. Make sure the fitting is fully dry before switching it back on.
