Description

The Deniz is a flush ceiling light with a single glass globe, held close to the ceiling by a brass gallery and a round ceiling plate. It is 38cm tall and 30cm across, a generous size for a fitting that sits so neatly overhead. The globe comes in Clear or Opal glass. Clear glass lets the bulb become part of the look, while Opal glass hides it and spreads a soft, even glow through the room. The fitting itself is brass and glass, and it comes in Polished Brass, Antique Brass, Antique Silver, Natural Brass, Satin Brass, Matt Black or White, so you can pair any finish with either glass.

We like it in a hallway, where one globe gives a broad, welcoming light from the centre of the ceiling. It is rated IP44, which means it is protected against splashing water, so it suits a bathroom too; it is an indoor light. Clear glass keeps the look bright and open, with the bulb on view at the heart of the globe, while Opal glass gives a calmer light that suits a bathroom you want soft and restful. The plainer finishes such as Matt Black and White sit well in a modern room, and the brass and silver finishes suit an older house with traditional details.

Every Deniz is made to order for you in Ireland. The Matt Black and White finishes are painted to Matt Black RAL 9005 and White RAL 9010, which helps if you are matching other paintwork. Bulbs are sold separately: it takes one E27 bulb, up to 40W per bulb. The maker guarantees the fittings it makes for five years from the date of purchase, and bulbs are not covered.
