Delmar 6 Light Crystal Flush Ceiling Light - French Gold

The Delmar is a 500mm flush ceiling light built around a French gold metal frame with a central cluster of Asfour crystal spheres set against a frosted glass diffuser. The outer glass ring remains clear, creating a transparent halo around the frosted centre when lit. Six G9 bulbs (sold separately) sit behind the metal canopy and light the crystal cluster from above, casting reflections across the gold finish and through the glass layers.

Designed for living rooms, dining rooms and master bedrooms with standard or low ceiling heights, the 150mm total projection keeps the fitting clear of head height while the 500mm diameter provides coverage for rooms up to 4m square. The flush-mount design fixes directly to the ceiling without any drop, making it suitable for flats and period conversions where ceiling roses for pendant lights are not available. The French gold finish brings warmth to interiors with oak, walnut or warm-toned paint schemes.

The frosted glass softens light distribution across the room while the clear outer ring allows sharper light to pass through, giving definition to the circular edge. The Asfour crystal spheres sit in a recessed cup within the gold canopy, catching and reflecting light from multiple angles as the crystals rotate slightly during installation or air movement. At 6.3kg the fitting requires secure fixing into a ceiling joist or a reinforced plasterboard fixing rated to 10kg minimum.

Dimmability depends on the G9 bulbs fitted — the Delmar accepts both halogen and LED G9 lamps up to 33W per socket, and pairing with dimmable LEDs allows brightness control via a compatible wall dimmer. The combined output from six G9 LEDs at 3-5W each typically provides 1,800-3,000 lumens, which covers general ambient lighting needs for a 16-20m² space.

What bulbs does the Delmar take?

The fitting takes six G9 capsule bulbs, sold separately. Most users fit G9 LED bulbs between 3-5W and 2700K-3000K for warm ambient light. Halogen G9 bulbs up to 33W are also compatible but run hotter and use more energy than LED equivalents.

Is it suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. The 150mm total projection from ceiling to base of fitting keeps it clear of head height in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.3m or above. The flush-mount design avoids any drop or chain that would reduce usable ceiling height further.

Can the Delmar be dimmed?

Dimming depends on the bulbs fitted. If you use dimmable G9 LED bulbs and pair the fitting with a compatible LED dimmer switch, brightness can be controlled. Non-dimmable LEDs or the wrong dimmer type will cause flickering or no dimming response.

What ceiling fixing is needed for the 6.3kg weight?

The fitting must be screwed into a ceiling joist or fixed using plasterboard anchors rated to at least 10kg. Standard plasterboard fixings are not sufficient — the weight requires secure mechanical fixing into solid timber or a reinforced mounting plate.
