Description

The Dasan is a single-pendant downlight built around a 200mm long white aluminium cylinder with a 60mm diameter, suspended on a 750mm cable. The pendant houses a single GU10 fitting (bulb sold separately) and directs light downward through the open base of the cylinder. The white powder-coated aluminium finish gives a clean, minimal appearance against both white and off-white ceilings.

Designed for task and accent lighting over kitchen islands, dining tables, breakfast bars and counters, the Dasan works in residential kitchens, hospitality settings and commercial interiors where focused downlight is needed without a recessed fitting. The 200mm body length suits standard 2.4-2.7m ceiling heights when the pendant hangs 600-900mm above a worktop. Multiple Dasan pendants can be spaced along an island or bar run using the loop-in/loop-out wiring configuration.

The pendant uses a tool-free cable connector that clips into the ceiling rose, allowing faster installation than traditional screw terminals. The GU10 fitting accepts standard UK GU10 LED bulbs up to 10W, giving control over colour temperature (warm white, cool white, daylight) and dimming capability depending on the bulb chosen. Knightsbridge produces the Dasan in white, black and brushed chrome finishes, with both short-body and long-body variants available separately.

What bulb does the Dasan take?

The pendant takes a standard GU10 bulb up to 10W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a GU10 LED in the 5-7W range at 3000K (warm white) for kitchen task lighting, or 4000K (neutral white) for food preparation areas.

Is it dimmable?

Dimming depends on the GU10 bulb fitted. Use a dimmable GU10 LED with a compatible trailing-edge dimmer switch. The pendant itself is dimmer-ready, but non-dimmable GU10 bulbs will not dim even with a dimmer switch installed.

Can multiple pendants be wired in sequence?

Yes. The Dasan includes loop-in/loop-out functionality, allowing multiple pendants to be wired from a single ceiling supply point. This is common over kitchen islands where three or four pendants are spaced evenly along the island length.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 200mm body and 750mm cable suit ceiling heights of 2.4m or above when the pendant hangs 600-900mm above a worktop or table. Lower ceilings may require shortening the cable during installation.
