Description
The Dasai is a console table 115cm wide, 85cm high and 40cm deep, built as a mango wood case on a solid iron frame. Two drawers run side by side across the top of the case, each with a handle rolled from solid iron bar. A second mango wood shelf sits low between the legs. The wood is sandblasted, which lifts the grain and leaves the surface open and slightly rough to the hand.
At 85cm it stands higher than a dining table, which is the height for a hall: a lamp and a bowl of keys sit at hand rather than at knee height. At 40cm deep it takes a run of wall without pushing out into a passage. The two drawers hold post, gloves and leads, and the lower shelf takes baskets or a stack of books.
The case and both shelves are mango wood and the frame is iron. Mango is a sustainable timber with a marked natural grain, and the sandblasting brings that grain up, so no two pieces come out alike. The drawer handles are forged from solid bar. The table weighs 28.65kg. The Dasai range also holds a storage unit, a media unit, a chest of drawers and a bedside table in the same wood.

Frequently Asked
How big is it?
115cm wide, 85cm high and 40cm deep.
Does it have storage?
Yes. Two drawers across the top and a full width shelf underneath.
What is it made from?
Mango wood on a solid iron frame.
What does sandblasted mean here?
The wood is blasted with fine grit rather than sanded smooth, which lifts the grain and leaves an open texture on the surface.
What else is in the range?
A storage unit, a media unit, a chest of drawers and a bedside table.
How should it be looked after?
Rub an edible oil such as olive or walnut into the wood to feed it, though that will darken the tone. Blot any spill immediately with a dry cloth, and do not use chemical cleaners.
