Description
A chest of drawers 120cm wide, 80cm tall and 45cm deep, with six drawers set in two columns of three. The carcass and the drawer fronts are mango wood, pale and left with the band saw marks showing across the grain. The frame and legs are iron in a dark antique brass tone, running up the corners and round the base, with a centre leg front and back as well as one at each corner. Each drawer carries a slim rolled bar handle set in from the edge.
At 120cm wide and 80cm tall this is a wide, low chest rather than a tall one, which leaves the top usable: a table lamp, a jewellery box and photo frames all stand on it. In a bedroom it takes a lamp on the top and a round mirror hung above. The six drawers are sized for clothes, and the iron frame lifts the carcass clear of the floor so the whole piece reads lighter than a chest that sits flat.
The carcass is mango wood and the frame and legs are iron. Because the wood is left with the saw marks in it, the grain and the marking differ from one drawer front to the next, and the boards making up a single front often run several different tones. The handles are a rolled bar in the same finish as the frame.

Frequently Asked
How many drawers does it have?
Six, in two columns of three.
How big is it?
120cm wide, 80cm tall and 45cm deep.
What is the frame made from?
Iron, in a dark antique brass tone, with the carcass and drawer fronts in mango wood.
Will the top mark?
It can. The finish may mark where it comes into contact with liquid, so blot any spillage immediately with a dry cloth.
How do I look after it?
Rub an edible oil such as olive or walnut into the wood to feed and protect it, bearing in mind that oil will darken the tone. Do not use chemical cleaners on it. The colour will change over time.
