Description

The Dalla DTO-W is a recessed LED spotlight that drops into the ceiling for a flush, low-profile finish. It takes a single MR16 or PAR16 lamp on a Gx5.3 or GU10 cap, running on either 12V (AC or DC) or mains 220-240V depending on the lamp fitted, with a maximum load of 10W. The round trim measures Ø82mm and sits just 21mm deep, so the housing tucks neatly above the ceiling line. In US terms this is a recessed can light, with the directional MR16 lamp giving a focused beam rather than broad ambient wash.

Because the beam is controlled by the lamp you choose, the DTO-W works as a directional accent: angle a tighter MR16 over a worktop, an artwork or a feature wall, or fit a wider lamp for general fill. It suits kitchens, hallways, living rooms and bedrooms where a discreet ceiling spot is wanted, and several units in a run let you build a flexible scheme across a room. The compact 21mm depth helps in shallow voids where a deeper fitting will not sit, though you should always confirm the void clears the lamp and any wiring before cutting in.

What size cut-out does this spotlight need?

The fitting has an overall trim diameter of Ø82mm and recesses into the ceiling. Cut your hole slightly smaller than the trim so the rim sits flush against the ceiling, and always check the actual cut-out guidance on the spec sheet before drilling. The housing is only 21mm deep, which helps in shallow ceiling voids.

Is a bulb included, and is it dimmable?

No lamp is supplied, so you choose your own MR16/PAR16 lamp on a Gx5.3 or GU10 cap up to 10W. Dimming depends entirely on the lamp and any transformer you pair it with, so select a dimmable lamp and compatible dimmer if you want that control. This lets you set the wattage, beam angle and colour temperature to suit the room.

Can I use this spotlight outdoors or in a bathroom?

No. It is rated IP20, which means dry indoor use only, so it should not be installed outdoors, in porches, or in bathrooms, showers or other damp areas. Choose an IP65-rated fitting for any of those locations.

How do I clean the spotlight?

Switch off and let the lamp cool, then wipe the white aluminium trim with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive pads and harsh solvents that could mark the finish, and never spray liquid directly into the fitting given its IP20 rating.
