Description

The Dali is a compact flush ceiling light built around a 120mm glass sphere set on a polished chrome base. The sphere combines horizontal bands of frosted and clear glass, creating a striped pattern that runs around its circumference. A single G9 bulb (sold separately) sits inside the sphere, casting light through both the transparent and frosted sections. The total projection from the ceiling is 100mm, making it suitable for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.2m or above.

Designed for hallways, bathrooms, cloakrooms and low-ceiling bedrooms where a pendant drop would intrude, the Dali provides functional ceiling light without dominating the space. The frosted bands diffuse the bulb glare while the clear sections allow brighter light to pass through, balancing ambient spread with direct downlight. The polished chrome base reflects the ceiling and the glass, adding visual depth despite the small footprint.

The glass sphere is moulded in one piece, with the banding pattern integrated into the glass during forming rather than applied as a surface treatment. The chrome base is steel with a mirror-polished finish, fixed directly to the ceiling rose with the bulb holder accessible from below by unscrewing the glass globe. At 0.59kg total weight, the fitting installs on standard UK ceiling roses without additional support.

Frequently Asked

Is the Dali dimmable?

Yes, provided you fit a dimmable G9 bulb. The fitting itself is compatible with dimming, but non-dimmable G9 LEDs will not dim regardless of the switch used. Most G9 LED bulbs now specify whether they are dimmable on the packaging.

What bulb does it take?

The Dali takes a single G9 bulb, sold separately. G9 is a two-pin capsule base. Most users pair this with a 3-5W G9 LED bulb in 2700K-3000K warm white for general room lighting.

Is it suitable for bathrooms?

The Dali carries no IP rating, so it is not rated for use directly above a bath or shower. It can be used in bathrooms outside zones 0, 1 and 2 (typically more than 600mm from the edge of a bath or basin). Check UK bathroom lighting zone regulations before fitting.

How is the bulb changed?

The glass globe unscrews from the chrome base by hand. Once removed, the G9 bulb is accessible and can be pulled straight out of the holder. Reverse the process to fit a new bulb and replace the globe.
