The chrome trim forms a continuous edge around the circumference and provides the mounting points for the acrylic panels.

Designed for living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms and hallways with ceiling heights of 2.3m or above, the Dakota provides ambient overhead lighting with a colour accent. The 175mm projection from ceiling to base keeps the fitting within the flush category, allowing it to work in rooms where a pendant would hang too low. The red acrylic band casts a warm tonal wash onto the ceiling above when the lights are on, while the opal white diffuser spreads softer white light downward into the room.

The dual-acrylic construction weighs 7.5kg once fully assembled, requiring secure ceiling fixings into joist or rated plasterboard anchors. The four E27 sockets accept standard Edison screw LED, halogen or filament bulbs up to 60W each (bulbs sold separately). When fitted with dimmable LED bulbs and paired with a compatible trailing-edge dimmer, the Dakota allows brightness adjustment from full output down to low ambient levels for evening use.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, when fitted with dimmable LED bulbs and paired with a compatible trailing-edge dimmer switch. The dimmer and bulbs must both support dimming — using non-dimmable LEDs with a dimmer will cause flickering or failure.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 175mm projection keeps the Dakota within the flush category, making it suitable for standard UK ceiling heights of 2.3m and above. Rooms with 2.1-2.3m ceilings can still accommodate the fitting but may feel the visual weight of the 670mm diameter more noticeably.

How is the fitting secured to the ceiling?
