Cube 3 Light Bathroom Wall Light Pull-Cord Switch - Polished Chrome IP44

The Cube is a 3-light bathroom wall fitting with three opal white glass cube shades mounted on a polished chrome aluminium backplate. Each shade houses a G9 bulb (three included) behind frosted glass that diffuses light evenly across mirrors, basins and bathroom surfaces. An integrated pull-cord switch mounted to the fitting allows the light to be operated without needing a separate wall switch.

Designed for bathroom zones 2 and 3, the fitting carries an IP44 rating for protection against water splashes, making it suitable for installation above or beside mirrors, over basins, and on walls adjacent to shower enclosures where direct spray does not reach the fitting. The 360mm height and 120mm width give coverage for single and double basin layouts without overwhelming smaller bathroom walls. The 100mm projection from the wall keeps the shades clear of mirror surfaces when mounted at typical heights of 1.8-2m above floor level.

The polished chrome finish on the aluminium frame provides a reflective surface that pairs with chrome taps, towel rails and basin fittings common in contemporary bathrooms. The opal white glass is a solid frosted material rather than clear, so the G9 capsule bulbs inside remain hidden when viewed from below or the side. The total 120W load across three 40W-rated sockets gives bright task light for grooming, shaving and makeup application, with dimming available if dimmable G9 bulbs are fitted and paired with a compatible dimmer on the circuit.

What bathroom zones is this fitting suitable for?

The IP44 rating makes it suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3, which covers areas outside the shower enclosure where water splashes may occur. It is not rated for zone 0 or 1, which are the shower enclosure interior and the area directly above a bath or shower tray.

Does the pull-cord eliminate the need for a wall switch?

The integrated pull-cord allows the fitting to be switched on and off directly at the light itself. However, UK wiring regulations require bathroom lighting circuits to be isolatable at a double-pole switch outside the bathroom or via the consumer unit, so a wall switch or isolator remains part of the installation even if daily operation uses the pull-cord.

Are the G9 bulbs replaceable?

Yes. The fitting includes three G9 bulbs, and these are user-replaceable capsule bulbs accessed by removing each glass shade from the chrome frame. Standard G9 LED, halogen or eco-halogen bulbs up to 40W per socket can be used.

Can this be dimmed?

Dimming is possible if dimmable G9 bulbs are fitted and the circuit includes a compatible dimmer switch rated for the bulb type. The fitting itself does not include a dimmer, only an on/off pull-cord.
