Description

The Crelvette is a round LED flush ceiling light, 50cm across and 7.5cm high, so it sits close to the ceiling and suits rooms where a pendant would hang too low. A white steel body carries a white plastic shade with a crystal effect: a fine scatter of tiny points across the diffuser that catch the light and sparkle softly when it is lit. The LED is integrated and gives a bright 3,600 lumens, so there is no bulb to buy. It is rated IP20, which settles where it goes: indoors, in dry rooms, well away from bathrooms and splashing water.

This is a smart ceiling light for living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms and hallways, and for anyone who wants one fitting to do several jobs. The colour temperature adjusts from a warm 2700K for relaxed evenings to a crisp 6500K for reading or tidying. It dims as well, so the same light covers a bright morning and a quiet night. We think it works especially well over a dining table, where one light has to suit both breakfast and dinner. It is colour-changing too, it can be controlled by app, and it joins a Zigbee smart home setup. It also works with a remote control, sold separately, which is handy when you would rather not pick up your phone.

There is no switch on the fitting itself; it is switched at the wall and runs on 220-240V mains at 50/60Hz. As a wired-in mains light, it should be installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download. It weighs 1.11KG and carries energy class E. The LED and driver can be replaced by a specialist, so a worn part need not mean a new light. It is worth checking that your ceiling has room for a 50cm disc.
