Description

The Cotton is a large single pendant that hangs one white acid-etched glass shade from a white ceiling cap and slim drop. It is built around an E27 fitting, so it takes a standard screw-cap bulb, and the etched glass turns the source into a soft, even wash of light rather than a bright point. At 500mm across it is a generous fitting, made to sit on its own as a centrepiece.

One large shade gives a broad, diffused pool of light, which suits it over a dining table, a kitchen island or a seating area where you want gentle general light from a single point. Lit, the acid-etched glass keeps the E27 lamp soft and glare-free; unlit, it reads as a clean white glass form on a matching white drop, quiet against a pale ceiling.

We supply it on a clear PVC cable, ready to wire, with the drop adjustable from 640mm down to a long 2435mm. The ceiling cap uses a magnetic closure with no visible screws, so the fixing stays clean, and the E27 cap takes a standard screw-in bulb of your choice so you set the brightness and colour temperature.

What kind of light does the Cotton give?

A soft, broad wash. The white acid-etched glass shade diffuses the E27 lamp into an even glow, and the large 500mm shade spreads it wide, so it gives gentle general light over a table or seating area without glare.

What bulb does it take and is one included?

It uses a single E27 screw-cap bulb up to 42W. A bulb is not included, so we would fit an E27 lamp to suit; the standard cap means a wide choice of LED bulbs and colour temperatures.

Is it dimmable?

Dimming depends on the E27 bulb fitted. With a dimmable E27 lamp on a compatible dimmer the light can be lowered; the fitting itself has no integrated driver.

How big is it and where does it suit?

The glass shade is 500mm across, with an adjustable drop from 640mm to 2435mm. The large size and soft output suit it as a centrepiece over a dining table, kitchen island or seating area, and the magnetic ceiling cap keeps the fixing clean.
