Cord Flutes Reeded Glass Round Wall Mirror 58cm

Cord Flutes is a 58cm round mirror whose upper portion is reeded glass, ribbed in fine horizontal lines, with plain mirror below. The ribs stop at a clean line across the disc rather than fading out, so the two treatments meet as a hard edge.

Reeded glass breaks a reflection into vertical slices, so the top of the mirror gives you light and movement while the bottom gives you a face. Hung at eye level that puts the working part where you need it and the decorative part above, which is a more useful arrangement than it sounds. At 58cm it suits a cloakroom or a group of three. It is rated bathroom proof and hangs one way up, since the ribbed section belongs at the top. At 5kg and 3cm deep one person can hang it on the two screws, washers and plugs supplied.

The glass sits on an mdf backing with no frame, so the rim is the cut edge of the glass. Clean it with cleaner sprayed onto a cloth and expect the reeded section to need more attention than the flat one, because the grooves hold dust along their length and a single wipe skips the bottoms. Keep liquid away from the backing edge. The ribs are formed in the glass rather than applied to it, so nothing can lift. A textured and a half tinted version are made at the same size. The larger Cord discs run to 96cm if a single mirror suits the wall better than a group of small ones.
