Description

Cord Deco is a 58cm round mirror divided down the middle: one half is textured glass, the other plain mirror. The texture is a dimpled, irregular surface that scatters what falls on it, and the division between the two halves is a clean vertical line straight through the centre of the disc.

The split is what the piece is for. The plain half is a working mirror and the textured half is not, so it hangs where you want a mirror that is only half looking back at you, above a sideboard or beside a door rather than over a basin. At 58cm it is a small disc and it works in a group; the range runs to a larger size and to two other treatments of the same idea. It is rated bathroom proof and hangs one way up. At 5kg and 3cm deep it is an easy one person hang on the two screws, washers and plugs supplied.

The glass sits on an mdf backing with nothing round the edge, so what you see at the rim is the cut glass itself. Clean it with cleaner sprayed onto a cloth rather than at the mirror and take the textured half gently, because a dimpled surface holds cleaner in its hollows where a flat one sheds it. Keep liquid off the backing edge. The textured glass is made rather than applied, so there is no coating to wear through, and the two halves will age at the same rate.
