Description

The Conomavilla is a smart pendant light with a wide, shallow cone of black steel that rises to a slim cylinder and hangs from a fine cord and a round ceiling canopy. It measures 45cm across, with an overall height of 120cm. Set into the underside of the cone is a round white plastic shade that softens the integrated LEDs, which draw 15.5W and give out 2,000 lumens. The light is rated IP20, which settles where it can go: indoors, in a dry room, well away from bathrooms and anywhere it might meet water.

We would hang it over a kitchen island, a breakfast bar or a dining table, where the broad cone sends light down across the surface. The colour temperature runs from a warm 2700K to a cool 6500K, so the same pendant gives you a gentle glow for supper and crisp white light for cooking, reading or homework. A colour-changing RGB setting adds a wash of colour for a party or a lazy evening, and the light is dimmable, so one fitting suits every mood in a busy room.

The body is steel in a black finish and the shade is white plastic, a clean pairing that sits happily in a monochrome scheme. You control the light through an app, and it also works with a remote control, which is sold separately. There is no switch on the pendant itself; it is switched at the wall. It runs on 220 to 240V mains and carries an energy class of F. Packed, it weighs 2.258KG. As a wired-in mains light it should be installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download, so it is worth passing them on before the day of fitting.
