Coniston 6 Light Crystal Pendant Light - French Gold

The Coniston is a 450mm spherical crystal pendant light built from hundreds of overlapping cut crystal pieces arranged in dense tiers around a French gold frame. Six E14 bulb holders sit inside the crystal shell, with light refracting through the layered crystal to create diffused sparkle across the surface. The French gold frame and matching canopy provide a warm metallic backdrop that contrasts with the clear crystal.

Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and living rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the Coniston works as a centrepiece light over a dining table or as a focal fixture in a double-height hallway. The adjustable drop ranges from 570mm to 1580mm, allowing the pendant to be raised or lowered during installation to suit the room proportions. At 13.7kg the fitting requires a ceiling joist or reinforced ceiling rose capable of supporting the weight.

Each crystal piece is facet-cut with rounded edges, creating curved surfaces that catch and bend light at different angles depending on viewing position. The tiered arrangement means the crystals overlap like scales, with the density increasing towards the centre of the sphere and tapering slightly at the base. The French gold finish on the metalwork reads as a warm brass tone with a slight antiqued patency, softer than polished brass and warmer than brushed brass. The combination of clear crystal and warm gold suits both traditional and contemporary interiors where decorative lighting is needed without cool chrome tones.

Is the Coniston dimmable?

Yes, the fitting itself is dimmable-compatible. You will need to fit dimmable E14 bulbs and pair them with a compatible dimmer switch. LED dimmable bulbs work best with leading-edge or trailing-edge LED-rated dimmers.

What bulbs does it take?

The Coniston takes six E14 (small Edison screw) bulbs up to 20W each. Bulbs are not included. Most users pair this with warm white LED candle bulbs at 2700K-3000K to complement the French gold frame.

What ceiling height is needed?

The minimum drop of 570mm plus the 450mm sphere height means the pendant extends at least 1020mm below the ceiling rose. For installation over a dining table with the pendant sitting 700-800mm above the table surface, a ceiling height of at least 2.4m is recommended.

How is the crystal cleaned?

Switch off the power at the mains. Use a dry microfibre cloth to wipe each crystal piece gently, working from top to bottom. For stubborn marks a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the crystals or using chemical sprays which can leave residue or damage the metalwork.
