Description

The Coniston is a 967mm rectangular flush ceiling light with a polished chrome frame supporting multiple layers of faceted crystal droplets. Eleven E14 bulbs (sold separately) sit within the frame, with light refracting through the cascading crystals to create ambient illumination and decorative sparkle. The 310mm drop from ceiling to base fits rooms with ceiling heights of 2.2m or above without excessive overhang.

Designed for living rooms, dining rooms and hallways where a semi-flush or chandelier would sit too low, the Coniston provides the visual weight of a traditional crystal light in a compact vertical profile. The rectangular footprint of 967mm x 387mm suits spaces approximately 4-5m long, such as dining tables, galley kitchens or hallway runs. The polished chrome finish reflects both daylight and artificial light, amplifying brightness in north-facing or darker rooms.

Each crystal is individually hung on metal pins within the frame, creating movement and refraction as air currents in the room shift the droplets. The 21.8kg weight requires secure fixing to a timber joist or ceiling noggin — the fitting is not suitable for plasterboard-only installation. When paired with warm-white 2700K E14 LED bulbs, the clear crystals diffuse light without colour shift, maintaining a neutral tone across walls and furnishings.

How is it fixed to the ceiling?

The 21.8kg weight requires the ceiling fixing plate to be screwed into a timber joist or noggin — plasterboard fixings alone are not sufficient. If installing into a plastered ceiling, locate a joist or install a noggin between joists before fitting.
