Coniston 12 Light Crystal Pendant Light - Polished Chrome

The Coniston is a 660mm crystal pendant light built around twelve E14 bulb fittings arranged in a tiered cascade of cut crystal pieces on a polished chrome frame. Each tier descends in overlapping layers, creating a rounded profile approximately 840mm-2270mm in adjustable drop from ceiling to base. The clear crystal pieces are faceted to catch and refract light from the bulbs, turning the entire structure into a multi-point light source when lit.

Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and living spaces with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above, the Coniston provides both ambient and decorative light. The 660mm diameter suits tables of 1.6-2.2m length when hung 750-850mm above the surface, or acts as a centrepiece in a 4m x 4m room when ceiling-mounted. The polished chrome canopy fits standard UK ceiling roses and the adjustable chain allows the drop to be set during installation to suit the room height and function.

The crystal arrangement consists of multiple tiers of individual cut-glass pieces, each tier slightly smaller than the one above to form the rounded profile. The polished chrome frame holding the tiers provides a cool metallic contrast to the warm light refracted through the clear crystal. At 29.2kg the pendant requires secure ceiling fixing into a joist or ceiling beam — surface-mounting to plasterboard alone is not sufficient. The twelve E14 bulbs (sold separately) can be matched to dimmable LED or halogen bulbs to control light intensity.

What bulbs does the Coniston take?

The pendant takes twelve E14 (small Edison screw) bulbs, each up to 20W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K for ambient dining light.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, provided you use dimmable bulbs. The fitting itself has no electronics that prevent dimming, so compatibility depends on the bulbs chosen and the dimmer switch installed.

What ceiling height is needed?

The minimum drop of 840mm plus the 660mm diameter means the pendant sits approximately 1.5m from ceiling to base at its shortest setting. For comfortable head clearance in a dining room, ceiling heights of 2.7m or above are recommended. The drop can be extended up to 2270mm for taller spaces.

How is the crystal cleaned?

Switch off the mains supply before cleaning. Use a dry microfibre cloth to dust individual crystal pieces. For deeper cleaning, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the metal frame or getting water into the lamp holders. Do not use chemical sprays or polishes on the crystal.
