Description

This wooden photo frame celebrates a confirmation with a gentle, quietly devotional design in off white and black. The word Confirmation runs across the top in a flowing gold-toned script, and beneath the picture opening sits the line Follow and Grow in the Grace of Our Lord in neat capitals of the same warm tone. To the right stands a raised figure of a boy in a black suit and tie, hands together in prayer, while the lower left corner carries a small raised cross twined with a sprig of green leaves. The single rectangular opening takes a 6 x 4in photograph in landscape, with no mount, so the picture fills the opening with no card border around it.

Because it is freestanding, it needs no wall and settles happily on a bedroom shelf, a bedside table, a mantelpiece or a dressing table, wherever the day can be remembered each morning. A photograph from the service, a family group outside church or a quiet portrait on the day all suit its soft neutral colouring, and the off white face sits easily with most rooms and furnishings. We think it makes a thoughtful confirmation gift from family and friends, and a lovely keepsake to have on show long after the celebration.

The frame is made of wood with a smooth off white finish, and the boy and the cross are raised from the face so they catch the light. At the back, a kraft board backing holds the photograph in place and a stand lets the frame rest at a gentle angle. The front is 19.9cm along its longer edge and 15.9cm along its shorter edge, and the frame is 1.8cm deep. To keep it looking fresh, dust it with a soft dry cloth and keep it away from damp. Slip the photograph in before you wrap it, and it is ready to give on the day.
