Description

The Cone is a 360mm vertical bathroom wall light with three opal glass cone shades mounted on a polished chrome aluminium frame, controlled by an integrated pull-cord switch. Each shade houses a G9 bulb (included, Osram), providing a total of 120W of light output across the three fittings. The IP44 rating makes the light safe for installation in bathroom zone 2, where occasional water spray is expected.

Designed for installation next to bathroom mirrors or on either side of a vanity unit, the Cone provides even facial illumination without harsh shadows. The 100mm projection keeps the shades close to the wall while the 360mm vertical arrangement spreads light across a typical mirror height. The pull-cord allows the light to be switched on and off without needing a separate wall switch, useful in bathrooms where switch placement is restricted by tiling or basin locations.

The polished chrome finish on the aluminium frame reflects ambient light and pairs with chrome taps, towel rails and shower fittings commonly found in contemporary bathrooms. What does the IP44 rating mean for bathroom installation?

IP44 means the fitting is protected against solid objects larger than 1mm and water splashes from any direction. This makes it safe for bathroom zone 2, which covers areas above the bath or shower and within 600mm horizontally from a basin. It should not be installed in zone 1 (directly above a bath or inside a shower enclosure).

Are the bulbs included?

Yes, the fitting includes three Osram G9 bulbs. The G9 socket is a small bi-pin capsule fitting that slots into the holder without screwing. Replacement G9 bulbs are widely available in LED, halogen and different colour temperatures.

Can it be used with a dimmer switch?

Yes, provided you install dimmable G9 bulbs. The included Osram bulbs may or may not be dimmable depending on the specific model supplied. Check the bulb packaging or replace with known dimmable G9 bulbs if dimming is required.

How is the pull-cord switch operated?

The pull-cord hangs below the light fitting and toggles the light on and off with each pull. This removes the need for a separate wall switch, which is useful in bathrooms where switch locations are limited by basin positions or tiling layouts.
