Plain, round and matt black, this is a compact recessed fitting for a 75mm cut-out, with an outer trim measuring 85mm across. It takes a single GU10 lamp of up to 12W and arrives with the lampholder already fitted. We would put a 50mm LED reflector lamp in it, which suits the shallow body and throws a controlled pool of light rather than a wide wash. Dimming is possible, though it depends entirely on the lamp you choose, so the brightness range is set by what goes in rather than by the fitting itself.

Sealed against dust and splashing water, it is a sensible choice for rooms where steam and the odd splash are part of daily life: bathrooms, shower rooms, kitchen ceilings above a worktop or sink, utility rooms and sheltered porches. The small trim means a run of them reads as a line of quiet dots rather than a row of large rings, which is why we tend to reach for this size in hallways, landings and low ceilings where anything bigger would dominate. It suits modern rooms and pared-back schemes, and works equally well as a single light over a mirror or basin.

The trim is finished in an even matt black with very little sheen, so it settles back into darker ceilings and reads as a shadow rather than a bright ring. Keep it looking right by dusting the visible edge with a dry cloth, and if marks build up, use a barely damp cloth once the lamp has gone cold; avoid polishes and bathroom sprays on the finish. What size hole does it need?

It is designed for a 75mm cut-out, with an 85mm outer trim to cover the edge and a body depth of 45mm.

Which lamp should I use?

A GU10 LED with a 50mm reflector, rated no higher than 12W. The lampholder is already fitted, but the lamp itself is not included.

Can I dim it?

Yes, provided you fit a dimmable GU10 lamp and pair it with a suitable dimmer. Neither the lamp nor the dimmer comes with the fitting.

Is it suitable for a bathroom?

It is rated IP54, so it is protected against dust and splashing water, which makes it appropriate for bathrooms, shower rooms and kitchens.

How do I clean the trim without damaging the black finish?

Dust it with a dry cloth, and for marks use a cloth wrung out in water only, once the lamp is cold. Solvents, polishes and abrasive creams will dull the matt surface.

Is there a matching square version?

Yes. The same 75mm cut-out size is offered as a square trim, and both the round and square shapes come in matt black or matt white.
