Description
The COB LED Strip is a continuous, dot-free line of diodes on a flexible 5m reel, giving an even run of light with no visible spotting along its length. It draws 14W per metre and delivers 1540 lumens per metre in a 4000K cool white tone, so a full reel produces a bright, uniform line for cove, shelf and outline work. Known in the US as LED tape or light strip, it cuts to length at the marked interval every 4.55cm, letting you match a run to a shelf edge, a recess or a cabinet without waste.
Indoor settings suit it best: under kitchen cabinets, along shelving, inside display units, behind a headboard or tucked into a ceiling cove for indirect light. Because the diodes are packed in a solid line rather than spaced apart, the output reads as a clean band rather than a row of dots, which works well where the strip is partly visible. Throw is short and directional, so plan it as accent or task-edge lighting close to the surface it sits on rather than as a single ceiling source for a whole room.
The strip runs on 24V DC and needs a matching 24V LED driver, which is sold separately and sized to the total wattage of the run you cut. It carries an IP00 rating, so keep it to dry indoor locations and clear of bathrooms, damp areas and any outdoor position. CRI is Ra90 for accurate colour on what it lights, with a rated life of 50,000 hours. Cut only at the marked 4.55cm points to keep each section working.

Frequently Asked
Does this LED strip need a driver?
Yes. It runs on 24V DC, not mains, so it needs a matching 24V LED driver, which is supplied separately. Size the driver to the total wattage of the length you actually use, allowing for the 14W per metre draw.
Can the strip be cut to length?
Yes, it is cut-to-length at the marked points every 4.55cm. Cut only on those marks so each remaining section keeps its full circuit and continues to light evenly.
Can it be used outdoors or in a bathroom?
No. This strip is rated IP00, which is for dry indoor use only. Keep it out of bathrooms, damp areas and any outdoor or sheltered-outdoor location.
What does the COB format mean for the light?
COB packs the diodes into a continuous line rather than spacing them out, so you get a smooth, dot-free band of light. This makes it well suited to coves, shelves and edges where the strip itself may be partly seen.
