Description

The Cloghan is a single-light wall light: a round white glass globe held in a brass cup on a short arm, set on a round backplate that sits flat to the wall. A small rounded finial hangs beneath the cup. It is made of brass and glass, and we offer it in four finishes: Antique Brass, Antique Silver, Polished Brass and Satin Brass. It is compact, 20cm tall and 14cm wide, and projects 16cm from the wall, so it takes up little room. The white glass softens the light of the bulb inside it. Bulbs are sold separately: it takes one G9 bulb, up to 6.5W per bulb (LED).

Its modest size and rounded globe suit a bedroom, where one on each side of the bed makes a neat bedside light, and a living room or dining room, where a pair either side of a fireplace or a sideboard gives a gentle, welcoming light. The finish sets the mood: Antique Brass and Satin Brass bring a warm, mellow tone to a traditional room, Polished Brass is brighter and more reflective, and Antique Silver gives a cooler look against grey or white walls. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only.

Every Cloghan is made to order for you in Ireland, in brass and glass, and the globe and arm keep the same shape whichever finish you choose. It is wired in to the mains by a qualified electrician. When choosing between finishes, think about the other metals in the room, such as door handles, a curtain pole or picture frames, and match or contrast them.
