Description

The Clirmessa is a slim linear pendant light: a single grey bar, 87.5cm long and just 3.5cm wide, hung on two fine cables from a matching rectangular ceiling canopy. Its body brings together aluminium, steel and wood, with a warm wooden cap finishing each end of the bar. The light comes from integrated LEDs behind a white plastic shade running along the underside, and it gives 2,000lm from 18W at 3000K, a warm white suited to evening meals. It is rated IP20, which means it is made for indoors and dry rooms only.

Its long, narrow shape makes it a natural choice over a dining table or a kitchen island, where it spreads an even line of light along the whole surface rather than a single pool in the middle. From canopy to bar, the overall height is 110cm. The grey finish and touches of wood sit comfortably with oak tables, pale walls and dark chair legs, and the bar is slim enough to keep a smaller dining room feeling open and uncluttered. It also works over a desk or a long sideboard, wherever a strip of light is more useful than a glowing globe.

There is no switch on the light itself, so it is switched at the wall, and because it is dimmable you can lower the level for a relaxed supper or raise it for homework and paperwork. The LEDs are integrated, so there is no bulb to buy or replace. It runs on 220-240V, 50/60Hz mains, and as a hardwired light it is installed by a qualified electrician. Its energy class is F.
